Cookie Policy

This policy explains how flomzu.delivery uses cookies and similar storage technologies, what each type does, and how you can control them.

It should be read together with the Privacy Policy. The two documents cover different halves of the same picture: the Privacy Policy describes what we do with information you send us, and this page describes the small files your browser stores while you read the blog.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a site. They let a site remember information between page loads, such as your preferences or whether you have already seen a notice. A cookie is not a program and it cannot run on your device; it is a short label the site hands back to itself on your next visit.

Similar technologies, including browser local storage, work in comparable ways. Local storage keeps a value with no expiry date, while a cookie usually carries one. Both are read only by the site that set them. When we say cookies on this page, we mean that whole family of browser storage the blog relies on to run the same way for every reader.

Cookies we use

Three groups cover everything the blog sets. Anything outside these groups is not in use here.

1

Strictly necessary

These keep the site working: basic security, load balancing, and remembering that you have already dismissed the notice you saw on your first visit. They do not track you across other sites, and the blog cannot be delivered reliably without them, so they are set without asking.

2

Preference

These remember choices you make while reading, so a return visit does not start from zero. Typical examples are your text-size or reduced-motion setting where the site offers one, and which section of a long menu-drop guide you last had open. Clearing them only costs you convenience, never access.

3

Analytics

Where analytics are in use, these help us understand which pages get visited and how readers move through the site. We read the results in aggregate: which seasonal drop write-ups get opened, where people leave a long guide, which ordering tips get shared. We do not read a single reader's path, and analytics results do not feed any advertising system on this site.

What we do not use cookies for

We do not use cookies to serve targeted advertising on this site, and we do not sell data collected through cookies. Cookies here are tied to operating and measuring the blog, not to building advertising profiles. If you arrive from an ad, that click is handled by the ad platform on its side; nothing on flomzu.delivery adds a tracking cookie for retargeting you later.

That also means you will not be asked to accept a wall of advertising partners. The notice exists to cover the three groups above, and it is short because the list is short.

In plain terms

  • No ad-targeting cookies on this site
  • No selling of cookie data
  • No profiles built for other publishers
  • Cookies stay inside running and measuring this blog

Third-party cookies

Some cookies may be set by service providers that help us run the site, such as the hosting company that serves these pages and, where in use, an analytics provider. Those providers process data under their own policies and their own retention periods, not ours.

We choose providers that limit data use to the service they supply to us. In practice that means an analytics provider is contracted for measurement only, and hosting is contracted to deliver pages and keep the site online. If we ever add a provider that needs a new category of cookie, this page changes before that provider goes live, and the notice asks for consent first where the law requires it.

Because third-party cookies are set by someone other than us, the fastest way to block them is your browser's cookie controls rather than a setting on this site. The next section covers how.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can do it at any point, not only on your first visit. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works: some pages may not load as expected and your notice choice will be forgotten.

Step one

Open your browser's cookie controls

Every major browser keeps this in its privacy or site-data settings. Browser help pages explain the exact steps for the browser and version you use, and they stay current when menus move.

Step two

Delete what is already stored

Clearing site data removes cookies already set on this domain, including your notice-dismissed flag. The next visit will show the notice again, which is expected behaviour, not a fault.

Step three

Choose what to allow next time

Most browsers let you allow some sites and block others, or block third-party cookies globally while keeping first-party ones. Blocking third-party cookies has the largest effect on services you did not visit directly.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our use of cookies changes. When that happens, the wording on this page changes with it, so the version you are reading always describes what the site actually does.
